Pregnancy outcome in COVID positive pregnant patients and risk of intrapartum maternal to fetal transmission of COVID-19 during birth: An observational study

Objective: We conducted a study on lab confirmed COVID 19 positive pregnant women who delivered babies through vaginal route and caesarean section intrapartum maternofetal transmission of COVID-19 during birth was studied. Materials Methods: An observation- al in covid designated tertiary care hospital Srinagar, India total number 249 patients 130 neonates were included. infection con- firmed using reverse transcriptase real-time PCR specimens respiratory tract (nasal pharyngeal swabs) admission all within 48hours birth. Results: Out the patients, 105 discharged from after they turned out to be negative repeat RT - test (test repeated 10 days admission) The obstetric outcome studied remaining 144 patients. Regarding maternal outcome, different outcomes that we observed ectopic pregnancy, abortion, molar preterm (delivered before< 37 wks) term delivery. Besides there 2 deaths due severe pneumonia. There no case mother child found our study. Conclusion: No evidence ver- tical pregnancy delivery found. However, possibility this cannot excluded.
